JOB OPPORTUNITY

HEAD COACH

The Beaver Valley Skating Club (BVSC) in Fruitvale, BC is seeking a Head Coach for 2018/19 season and beyond. The season runs from September-May. The position, commencing in September, 2018 will serve BVSC and its skating members in overseeing the operations of all Club skating programs.  This includes CanSkate, Rising Stars (Star 1-4), StarSkate, Competitive and CanPowerSkate. The applicant must be committed to maintaining and developing the current skating programs.  This position includes both on ice and off ice opportunities.  Currently, the BVSC is healthy active skating club with over 90 members and 15+ hours of group and private ice per week.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Ability and desire to coach all levels from CanSkate to Gold Level StarSkate and Competitive. Includes coordinating the Canskate Program. 

·      Provide group and private lessons. 

·      Develop and coordinate promotion of all Club programs.

·      Act as primary Coach Liaison for the Board of Directors.

·      Strong communication skills and the ability to work with skaters and parents and board members.

·      Provide leadership and coordination for special events such as Ice Show, Region Competitions and local skating performances.

 

 Qualifications:

·      Minimum NCCP Level 2 certified.

·      Canpower Certified an asset. 

·      The Candidate should be familiar with the new Star 1 - 5 test program, or willing to learn and implement in their teaching with our club programs.

·      5-10 years previous Coaching experience an asset.

·      Active member of Skate Canada and in good standing.
