BC/YK Section Office Holiday Closure

RICHMOND—Team USA entered the second annual ISU International Adult Figure Skating Competition with the second largest team, 56, but skated away with the largest number of medals.

When the three-day ( August 24-26) event for adults aged 28-78 came to a conclusion at Minoru Arena, USA skaters had won 24 gold, 25 silver and 14 bronze medals. Canada, with the largest number of skaters, 57, finished the competition with 17 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze. BC skaters contributed greatly to that gold medal count.

Richmond’s Minoru Arena will be the scene of the second annual ISU Adult Skating Competition this Thursday through Saturday.

Skaters (140 in total) between the ages of 28 and 78, representing 12 countries, will be on display over the three days.

Largest entry list comes from Canada with 57 competitors, 21 of them from British Columbia. The US has the next largest competitors, 56, while Japan is the third largest entry list at 13.

Burnaby, B.C. (February 17, 2017) – Skate Canada BC/YK Section has selected five individuals for induction to its 2017 class. The induction ceremony will take place at the Skate Canada BC/YK Section Annual Awards Banquet held at the Delta Burnaby Hotel on Saturday May 6, 2017.

BURNABY, BC: Skate Canada BC/YK recognized award winners on April 30, 2016 at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre.

The recipients were presented with their awards on Saturday night at the annual awards banquet. The winners received their awards from various presenters, including, 2016 Canadian Silver Medalist & World Team Member Liam Firus & 2016 Canadian Bronze Medalist and 2014 Olympic Silver Medalist Kevin Reynolds.
