National Coaches Week is Approaching!

The Coaching Association of Canada and the BC/YK Section are proud to present the inaugural National Coaches Week, September 19 - 27, 2015.


National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach.


In honor of Coaching Week, we would like our Skating Community to say Thank you to our Coaches!


Kelsey Wong wins Junior Ladies at Golden West Competition

Kelsey Wong is recovering well from her MCL injury as proof in her Junior Ladies win at the Golden West competition in Los Angeles. Going up against tough American competition Kelsey skated two very strong programs to win the event. A great accomplishment.

The future of women’s figure skating in BC was on display at the BC/YK Section SummerSkate on Friday at Burnaby 8 Rinks, in particular the two-division free programs of Pre-Novice Women Under 14.

BURNABY—Before the Juvenile Men’s free program was to be held on the opening Thursday of the 2015 BC/YK Section Summerskate, knowledgeable observers of the sport said it would be a battle between two teammates from the host Champs International Skating Club of BC.
