Reigning Canadian Junior Ice Dance champions Madeline Edwards and Zhaokai Pang continued to add to their trophy case over the weekend.

The Burnaby Centre of Excellence couple, coached by Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe, finished second over the weekend at the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Mexico City.

But it was ever so close for the gold medal.

Prince George officially became home base of the Northern B.C. Centre for Skating on Tuesday.

60 skaters descended on Whistler, BC from August 20-22, 2013 to attend the BC Team and Prospect Team Camps. The BC Team portion of the camp was held August 20 and 21 at Meadowpark Sports Centre. Skaters and coaches had the opportunity to work with 5 international judges and receive feedback on their program components and GOE’s on their technical elements. Skaters also took part off ice dance and stretch classes.

Congratulations to the following BC skaters who have received international assignments.  Very best wishes to all skaters as you prepare for an exciting competition season!

BURNABY—The four day Pond To Podium Super Series BC-Yukon Section Summerskate competition that drew more than a record 600 skaters came to a close on Sunday at Burnaby Eight Rinks.

Of the nine finals contested on this final day, skaters from the Centre of Excellence took home five of the gold medals. 

BURNABY—The future of figure skating within the BC-Yukon Section showed its stuff Saturday on the third day of the 2013 Pond To Podium Super Series SummerSkate. 

BURNABY—With just two weeks to go until their first Grand Prix appearance of the season, Canada’s reigning Junior ice dance champions Madeline Edwards and Zhaokai Pang of Inlet skating club put together a winning performance Friday night at the 2013 Pond to Podium BC-Yukon Section SummerSkate competition.
