Strong Canadian Adult Team Brings Home 25 Medals!

Canada’s adult figure skaters had an impressive showing at this year’s International Skating Union (ISU) Adult Figure Skating Competition held in Oberstdorf, Germany, from May 14-18, 2013. The Canadian team earned a total of 25 medals, including 12 gold medals, seven silver medals, and six bronze medals.

BURNABY, BC: Skate Canada BC/YK announced a number of award winners over the weekend at its Annual General Meeting in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The recipients were presented with their awards on Saturday night at the annual awards banquet. The winners received their awards from various presenters, including, Four Continents Champion Kevin Reynolds, Canadian Bronze medalists Nicole Orford and Thomas Williams, and Former National Team Member Tarrah Harvey.

BC Coast Region Wins 2013 Region Challenge Trophy

The BC Coast Region won the 2013 Region Challenge Trophy at the 2013 STARSkate Final in Kelowna, March 8-10, 2013.

 

The total over all Region Standings were

 

BC Coast Region-132.15

Vancouver Island Region-118.02

Okanagan Region-102.87

CNCR Region-97.33

Kootenay Region-90.70

2013 Region Challenge Team Trophy Teams

The 5 Region Challenge Teams that will be vying for the Region Challenge Team Trophy at the 2013 Super Series Final in Kelowna March 8-10, 2013 have been announced. Each Region was allowed to name 10 skaters to their team but no more than 2 skaters per event on each team. The skaters will earn points in their events based upon their placement. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the competition will be awarded the Region Challenge Team Trophy. The 2012 winner was the Vancouver Island Region.
