Live Streaming a big hit!!!
The live streaming of BC SummerSkate once again drew excellent numbers. We streamed both rinks which added to the complication of the operation and manpower required, but with the help of Steve Muff (BC Director of Development) it all worked beautifully. We had four cameramen to work those long hours covering every skater. Peter Lang, Rob Woodley, Jesse Sturdy all former skaters and now coaches and Neal Melancon. Thank you for all your great work.
In the production operation room (my office) we had Jeremy Ten and Tarrah Harvey along with the rest of us taking turns on the tri caster and the laptop streaming devices. It is a fun and creative process and I hope over the next few years to get more young people involved.
People watched from all across Canada. There were viewers from Finland, Great Britain, Italy, Japan and Mexico…and I am sure from many more countries as well.

Our next broadcast will be from Autumn Leaves in Kamloops in October, then the Provincial Championships in Kelowna November 10th - 13th. There is now a link to the archived videos from both rinks on skatinginbc.com.
We hope you have enjoyed the service!
