CanSkate Coach

Located in Surrey, the Cloverdale Skating Club (CSC) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to run our rapidly growing CanSkate Program. We currently offer 5 classes per week from September to June and 2 classes per week during our 6 week summer program.

Qualifications:

• Skate Canada Coach In Good Standing and NCCP CanSkate Coach Certified

Characteristics:

• Must be detail oriented, be organized and have excellent time management skills
• Creativity and enthusiasm are a must
• Must be willing to work with the Director of Programs to support skater progression throughout our club programs
• Must have strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with all ages and abilities (including skaters, parents, coaches, and volunteer executive members)
• Must be willing and able to answer program inquiries in a timely manner
• Willingness to train Program Assistants and mentor new coaches
• Values aligned with our club mission to provide an inclusive and positive environment for developing skills, encouraging good sportsmanship and building self confidence
• Interest to participate in and promote Club events (e.g. Ice Show), sometimes as a volunteer 
• Willing to follow all Covid-19 safety guidelines put in place by Skate Canada and City of Surrey
