Now’s your chance to learn something new or brush up on your skills. Grandview Skating Club is offering a summer SYNCHRO SKILLS program.  

SYNCHRO SKILLS

Session: Summer -  July 4 - August 8 
Location: Sunset Arena, 390 E. 51st Ave

Cost: $138 (6 sessions)

THURSDAYS 

11:15am - 1:00pm

Includes 30 min Synchro Off-Ice training

Last 30 min of class is on shared ice

Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized, very exciting discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. 

Synchro Skills is an introductory program to synchronized skating’s five basic elements: Circle, Line, Block, Intersection, and Wheel. This session will familiarize skaters with elementary holds, elements and transitions, done in a group lesson setting. Skaters will work in small groups of 2-4. Participants can be of any age, with a minimum skating level of STAR 1.

The objective of this class is to prepare skaters for Synchro Skills in the new Star 1-5 program that Skate Canada is currently developing. The long term goal will be to build a team strong enough to compete together.
