The Grandview Skating Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to complement our current coaching team and help provide a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for our athletes and their families.

Grandview SC operates with a team-coaching approach where all our coaches are cooperatively led by our Coaching Director. Coaches are compensated within a range of $30 - $70/hr depending on experience and certification level.  Coaches bill directly to the club and are not expected to bill individual skaters/families allowing more time to focus on skater development.Fall and Winter sessions are held at our home rink Trout Lake Rink (3350 Victoria Dr, Vancouver). Spring and Summer sessions are held at Sunset Ice Rink (390 E 51 Ave, Vancouver) and Britannia Rink (1661 Napier St, Vancouver). Classes are offered 6 days a week in Fall and Winter; and 4 days in Spring and Summer. Grandview programs include: CanSkate, PowerSkate, PreStar/STAR 1, STARSkate, Competitive and off-ice training. We are also home to Special Olympics Skating Vancouver, Annual planning includes competion simulations, seminars and assessments in all disciplines. We also mount an Ice Show every two years, in which all members are invited to participate.Qualifications:

Current Skate Canada Coaching Certification with In Good Standing status Minimum ISPC Level 2 completion or NCCP Intermediate StarSkate Provincial Certified (ISPC) Coach or higher preferred but not required* Ability and interest to coach skating at all levels, from CanSkate to Gold-level STARSkate, including Adult skaters.* Particular Ability and Experience to teach Freeskate STAR 5 and higher

Characteristics:

* Willing and able to coach group and private lessons

* Passionate about both technical and expressive aspects of figure skating

* Enthusiastic to mentor junior coaching staff

Interest to participate in Club, Region and Section events (e.g.Ice Show, competitions). Strong communications skills and an ability to work effectively with all ages (including skaters, parents, coaches and volunteer executive members)
