FUNSkate

We are excited to introduce FUNSkate events. The launch of FUNSkate is in response to feedback from clubs and skating schools across the Section.

FUNSkate events provide an opportunity for skaters from one or multiple clubs to participate in a variety of fun categories and challenges in a relaxed, club-style atmosphere. These events are designed to be flexible and can be hosted by clubs or skating schools to accommodate a wide range of skill levels and logistical considerations.

There are no mandatory categories. Clubs and skating schools can choose the FUNSkate activities that best suit their participants. The key objective of every FUNSkate event is simple: focus on FUN!

To support clubs and skating schools, the BC/YT Section has created two resources:

  • FUNSkate Hosting Guide – includes suggested registration fee maximums (clubs may charge less, but not more).

  • FUNSkate Events Guide – outlines approved categories, starting orders, marking sheets, results sheets, and evaluation guides.

The FUNSkate Hosting Guide and Events Guide can be viewed below.

Excel marking files will be provided once the FUNSkate event has been registered with the Section.

Please note: Skate Canada officials are not to be used for FUNSkate events.

Event Registration

  • Clubs/Schools must register their FUNSkate event online with the BC/YT Section a minimum of 8 weeks prior to the event date

  • Registrations will be reviewed within 5 business days

  • Hosting clubs must be in good standing with Skate Canada

  • The registration form is only required if other clubs will be attending
