The Maple Ridge Skating Club is seeking an experienced Skate Canada certified Regional or higher certified coach with strong CanSkate experience to fill a part-time vacancy within our club assisting with our CanSkate, off-ice technical development, and STARSkate programs.

Ice Times:

Our normal season runs from September until June, with potential for summer hours during the 5 weeks we are able to obtain summer ice (typically the last three weeks of July and first two weeks of August).

Our CanSkate schedule typically runs Monday, Tuesday, & Friday afternoons from September to June, as well as Saturday mornings from September to March. Our STARSkate/Competitive Skate schedule is Monday to Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings from September to March, and Monday to Friday afternoons from April to June.

Responsibilities:

• Provide coaching to skaters across different age groups and skill levels.

• Work collaboratively with other coaches using a team coaching approach to

design and implement training programs

• Run both on-ice and off-ice training sessions, focusing on technical elements

such as jumps, spins, footwork, choreography, and physical conditioning.

• Evaluate skaters’ performance, offering feedback and coaching to support skill development and address areas for growth.

• Maintain strong, clear communication with skaters, parents, and the board to

coordinate training schedules, competition planning, and progress updates.

• Stay informed on current policies, guidelines, and initiatives from Skate Canada.

• Maintain current First Aid and CPR Certification

Wages:

$35-55/hr for Regional or higher Certified coaches – dependent upon certification level and experience
