Job Description

The Prince George Figure Skating Club (PGFSC) is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and team-oriented full-time Figure Skating Coach to join our coaching team. We are looking for a coach who values collaboration, athlete development, and contributing to all aspects of a dynamic and growing club environment.

PGFSC is a Skate Canada–affiliated club operating in Prince George, BC for over 55 years with over 400 skaters participating in CanSkate, STARSkate, and Podium Pathway programming. Our club operates year-round, with up to six days per week of ice time during the winter season.

The club offers a strong community-focused sport environment paired with an affordable northern lifestyle and access to exceptional outdoor recreation.

We operate under a team coaching model and are committed to developing skaters through inclusivity, positive training environments, strong technical foundations, and long-term athlete development. Our athletes range from beginners in CanSkate through to STARSkate and Podium Pathway levels.

Job Responsibilities

●      Coach & support athletes in all club programs including Adaptive Learn to Skate, CanSkate, STARSkate, Adult Programming and Podium Pathway for on-ice and dryland activities

●      Assist in delivery of high-quality programming

●      Work collaboratively with the coaching team to ensure consistent programming

●      Participate in competitions, test days, club events, and coach meetings

●      Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive club culture

Skills & Qualifications

●      Skate Canada Regional Coach Trained or higher

●      Skate Canada STAR 1–5 Assessor Certificate

●      Skate Canada Coach in good standing

●      Passion for coaching all levels of skating including CanSkate, STARSkate, Adult Programming, Podium Pathway, and off-ice training

●      Experience in synchronized skating and/or ice dance an asset

●      Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

Work Schedule

Programming schedule: Monday through Saturday

Season:   Fall/Winter   September - March (≈ 27hrs/week)

 Spring                March - May                     (≈ 22hrs/week)

 Summer          July - Aug                            (≈ 20hrs/week)

Session times: Early mornings, afternoons and weekends
