Job Description:

The Sungod Skating Club, located in North Delta, BC, is inviting applications for a full-time Coaching position and for the role of CANSKATE Coordinator. These opportunities may be filled by one qualified individual or by two separate candidates, depending on suitability and experience.

We offer year-round programming with an average of 38+ hours of weekly on-ice sessions, supported by a strong and engaged membership.  Our club features a fully developed pathway—from CANSKATE through High-Performance, serving both the STARSkate and Podium streams.  Sungod Skating Club is proud to foster athletes who regularly advance to Sectional, Challenge, and National Championships.

Our programs currently operate across three City-owned facilities, all located within close proximity, and our 2024/2025 membership surpassed 550 skaters.

We are seeking highly motivated, passionate, and dedicated coaching professionals. The ideal candidates thrive in a collaborative team environment and are eager to contribute to all aspects of club programming, events, and community initiatives.

The hourly coaching rate ranges from $38–$80, commensurate with experience and qualifications.  The CANSKATE Coordinator will also receive a monthly retainer for all administrative duties pertaining to the program.

Requirements:

-        Skate Canada membership in good standing (including current First Aid and background check)

-        Skate Canada Regional-level certification or higher

-        Strong communication and interpersonal skills

-        Excellent organization, reliability, punctuality, and initiative

-        Ability to coach across all levels—from Grassroots to High-Performance

-        A strong team-oriented mindset

-        Experience teaching off-ice classes, operating the Pro-Motion hand-held harness, and familiarity with the Bronson mechanical spinner are considered assets

These roles are available for an immediate or upcoming seasonal start.

A relocation allowance may be available for out-of-province candidates, subject to appointment and individual circumstances.
