Gail Weber

Gail first became involved in the sport as a skater while living in Vancouver. Later, while residing in Fort St. John, she introduced her young family to skating through the "learn to skate" program. It was during this time that she began volunteering with the local skating club, an experience that marked the beginning of her enduring commitment to the sport.

Always eager to contribute, Gail took on the task of accounting for skating results and soon began serving on the Skating Club’s Board of Directors. Her dedication and leadership quickly led her to roles on the Region Board, then the Section Board, and eventually, she rose to become the Chair of Skate Canada BC/YT Section.

Throughout her volunteer journey, Gail also served as a team leader for Team BC/YT and played a key role in the planning and delivery of skater development seminars and programs.

One of the highlights of her volunteer career came in 2010, when she served as the Chair of Administration for Figure Skating at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, a role that remains one of her most memorable contributions to the sport.
