The Skate Canada BC/YT Section is proud to celebrate three outstanding 2026 Skate Canada National Award recipients whose dedication, leadership, and commitment continue to strengthen the skating community in British Columbia and Yukon.
Beverley Gibaldi of Snow Valley Skating Club was recognized with the National Volunteer Award, which honours volunteers who go above and beyond to make a meaningful impact within the Canadian skating community. Beverley’s passion and dedication have helped create positive experiences for skaters, families, coaches, and fellow volunteers, making her a deserving recipient of this national recognition.
Deena Beacom of the Racquet Club of Victoria received the National Coach Award, celebrating outstanding sport leaders who support skaters' growth through their commitment to excellence, integrity, safety, and innovation. Through her dedication to athlete development and coaching excellence, Deena has made a lasting impact on the skaters and programs she supports.
The Whistler Skating Club was awarded the National School/Club Award, recognizing clubs and schools that demonstrate excellence across all areas of operation. From delivering high-quality programs and fostering registration growth to encouraging collaboration among members and cultivating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, Whistler Skating Club exemplifies the values and standards that make Canadian skating communities thrive.
These awards highlight the incredible contributions of volunteers, coaches, and clubs that help shape the future of skating in Canada.
