Richmond’s Minoru Arena will be the scene of the second annual ISU Adult Skating Competition this Thursday through Saturday.

Skaters (140 in total) between the ages of 28 and 78, representing 12 countries, will be on display over the three days.

Largest entry list comes from Canada with 57 competitors, 21 of them from British Columbia. The US has the next largest competitors, 56, while Japan is the third largest entry list at 13.

Other countries attending: Australia, Brazil, Estonia, France, Great Britain, Italy, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand.

“We are once again thrilled at the turnout for the ISU Adult figure skating competition,” said Diana Barkley of White Rock, Chair of the ISU Adult figure skating working group. “International competitions help bring the figure skating community together and showcase just how much adult figure skating continues to grow and thrive around the world, from those returning to the sport to those whom are just getting started.”

Competition begins Thursday at 11:30 a.m., Friday at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The opening ceremonies is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m.
