Susan Morriss has dedicated more than 50 years of exceptional volunteer service to figure skating in Canada. Beginning as a skater in Victoria, she transitioned early into officiating and became a national and international-level judge in all four disciplines: Singles, Ice Dance, Pairs, and Synchronized Skating. Susan officiated at hundreds of competitions at every level of the sport, including over 25 Canadian Figure Skating Championships, 34 National Synchronized Skating Championships, the Canada Winter Games, multiple ISU Junior and Senior Grand Prix events, and 6 World Championships across more than 20 countries. She later served as an ISU Championship Judge and International Referee for Synchronized Skating.

She has served on officials’ committees at the regional, provincial, and national levels, chaired a Skate Canada Annual General Conference, led the Organizing Committee for the Canadian Championships in Victoria, and supported numerous community and high-profile events, including Stars on Ice and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Her lifelong dedication and impact have been recognized through numerous honours, including the Elizabeth Swan Memorial Award and Skate Canada’s 50-Year Volunteer Service Pin.
