Job description: 

Coquitlam Skating Club is one of the largest skating clubs in the metro Vancouver area, serving our community through a wide range of Skate Canada programming. During our 60 years of operations, we have produced many high level national and international skaters while offering diverse programs to serve all levels of skaters. With over 400 members, we operate out of the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex in central Coquitlam, a large multi-use modern facility. We have access to 3 skating rinks and several different facilities to offer our dryland programs. Coquitlam Skating Club has been a proud host of the BC/YT Sectional Championships and BC Coast Region Championships in recent years.

The Coquitlam Skating Club is looking for a part-time Office Manager/Administrator who can assist with the day-to-day operations of our Club. The successful candidate will work alongside their counterpart and play a key role in ensuring that the operational needs of both the club and clients are met. This is a unique opportunity to work within a great skating community while benefitting from a hybrid remote/in-person arrangement.

Responsibilities:

● Manage and maintain Club skater registration via Uplifter software

● Overseeing incoming/outgoing communications including in-person inquiries (when on-site), communications to membership

● Update communication on website and social media as needed

● Assist with planning and organizing events

● Liaise with arena staff regarding operational needs

● Forward invoices to Treasurer and follow up to ensure payments made

● Process financial transactions, as needed

● Work directly with the Coquitlam Skating Club membership, coaches and Board of Directors as needed

● Manage customer relationships

● Designing posters

● Various other admin tasks

Qualifications:

● Strong organizational and communication skills are a must

● Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, with preference given to candidates with

strong computer skills and knowledge of graphic software

● Previous skating and/or coaching background is an asset

● Fluency in English, with working knowledge of additional languages to serve our diverse membership is an asset

● Ability to maintain confidentiality required

● Previous administrative experience strongly preferred
